I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but c'mon now, some of these questions u simply type into Google and presto, theres your answer. I mean I like this site and it does help with some more opinion related questions, but stuff like can birds see colors? Am I wrong here??

Hey, you are not alone but I didn't post this like you did because they post a question that we can just copy and paste right into google and get their answer in seconds. They do NOT even bother to respond or to follow up on their post. They also don't read these or search for the same questions.
Just make a virtual sign and when you get another airhead, just virtually hand it to them. Sign says "LOSER".

You got a question? Come to Yahoo! Answers and ask. Before even suggesting people should go to Google, and other search engines, I would say, use the "search for questions" function here first. Many questions have been asked before. I suggest do a search before asking the same question again and again.

I agree with some of what you are saying but yahoo answers give you more a belonging to a community type of thing that somehow make people feel free to ask or answer a question. by saying this I don't think you're wrong neither.

People like to hear a human response back sometimes I think. No real reason besides wanting something besides a textbook answer. I actually detest Yahoo and use Google as my primary for everything.

You bet u r wrong. It is not the thing that we are dumb and looking for just the answers. It is for fun and real insight and different perspectives. Funny quips and all the other real things don't exist on google or even on yahoo.

I agree with your position. I do wonder why some people don't search online before posting here. I've only asked two questions, but they were ones I needed opinions on.
