D. the male has one half of the gender make up and thus has 1/2 of the traits and needs to b paired to see if it will b recessive or unrecessive.

These answers don't go with this question, but I would find an answer that is something like:

-- sex chromosome in the sperm

If the sperm has an X, then the child is a girl.
If the sperm is a Y, then the child is a boy.

uhh...I don't know about the multiple choice...but I know it's the male's DNA that determines the offspring. He's got the XY...while females just have XX...
