Is there someone on your mind that is taking your thoughts of the matters at hand. A person that is on your mind or in your heart and you keep wondering, questioning, hoping.
This can distract you, and cause your mind to wonder. I know because I have such a person in my life.
She has just started to encompass my whole being.

A lot of things may account for it:
Genetics (yes, if your ancestors all had short attention spans, it's likely you do, too)
The thing you're trying to do confuses you, is boring, or is next to something that you would much prefer to do.

you have too many things on your mind, and when u r trying to concentrate on something don't let your mind drift off into your thoughts, and forget about everything.
