Woman are consistently bombarded with the image of the ideal woman. A good woman is not necessarily one who is confident, powerful, or intelligent... but one that is beautiful, thin and sexy. This is taught from childhood! Did you ever have a Barbie doll? If you've heard of the 1940s study, where black children were given the choice between a white doll or a black doll, and they picked the white doll because it was 'better and prettier,' this is the same sort of thing. Sadly, even today many black children will pick the white doll.

Every person is born with their own uniqueness which is much more beautiful than what plastic surgery and photo retouching can offer (www.deansplanet.com show pictures of celebrities without make-up, www.awfulplasticsurgery.com show before and after pictures of celebrities who have gone through plastic surgery).

Look at who you are comparing yourself to and ask yourself why? Is there really such a thing as a perfectly shaped nose, eyes, body type, etc?

You should concentrate less on what is expected of you and realize the uniqueness of you and the special qualities you have. Much more important than your appearance is the type of person you are.

I know its cliche but its very true, its not what's inside, it's whats outside!

I do not know your age, but especially in the teen years there is high pressure for what is cool, how to look good, how to please people. It is a hard time in life but you can learn a lot from it.

Of course... there may be more here and if it gets unbearable perhaps you have a medical disorder (body dysmorphia, eating disorder, or something like that) that you may want to get treatment for. I would only worry about this if you find yourself debilitated (worry so much about appearances that you get depressed and can't function normally, or even worse, you harm yourself. But hopefully that's not the case)

Take care!

Because most women are insecure about how they look. You said no comments on weight, but women can look pretty no matter what weight they are, yet they are taught not to think so. Whether you're a hundred pounds or three hundred pounds, you can still be beautiful. Do you frown too much? Do you not like your hair? It's hard to answer a question if we have no idea what you like like or if you have odd habits.

Maybe you were teased a lot at a younger age and have a low self image because of that. My boyfriend helps my self image go up. Just by having someone there always giving you complements it helps a lot. You coud also just focus on the good and eventually you'll be able to look in the mirror and say "damn, I'm beautiful" and mean it. I hope you stop setting yourself to high standards :)

Maybe you are being ugly; it's nothing "bad" we just give it the name of being bad. I see ugliness and beauty neutral terms because there are guidelines for beauty: symmetry everything else is preference. On the other hand it's probably your low self-esteem and you should go to counseling to build it( if you see it as a bad thing). Remember beauty is really skin deep.

dont ever think as yourself as ugly. you might just not be happy with yourself so change it up. get some new clothes you can even cut your hair, and i little bit of make up is ok just not too much. dont look at all the people around you because most of them are fake! be yourself and be happy.

OK I don't get the question, but if you shine from the inside out it doesn't matter what you look like, mean people are ugly.

Now, I want you to look at yourself in the mirror each day, and recite to yourself, I AM PRETTY. I know how you feel. I wear glasses, and braces. I have really long thick eyelashes, but I'm allergic to contacts. Who cares?

Because you are too worried on how others think of you.
Seriously, FU*K people. SO WHAT if your "ugly" to one persons ridiculous standards. Kick that prick in the balls and say,
"Sukka you jus jealous cuz I got deez."
And point to your breasts.
