I dressed in a poodle skirt with a crinoline ( a slip that is very full, worn under square dancing skirts), white lacy socks with saddle shoes. I would wear a tight fitting white/pink blouse with a scarf tied around my neck. The color of the blouse usually matched the poodle on my skirt. You can find the crinoline at some thrift stores. Brides also wear them under a full wedding dress. I also had the crinoline hanging a little below the skirt. The poodle skirts are very simple to make. Felt is the best material to use. You can also draw a poodle, cut it out and glue it on the skirt. Then add your own decorations on the poodle.

Black and white. Girls wore white shirts with black poddle skirts, white socks with black babydoll shoes. Boys wore white shirts with black high water pants white socks with rounded saddle shoes. The hair was oily slicked back for boys and girls had laid down mushroom style hair with head bands in the middle. You can find these items on ebay.
