I have no problems with the organization re equal pay and better working conditions achievements. I think it kind of demoralized men. I wish I could have been in my twenties in the 40s or 50s when marriage was respected more.

Individuals are respected rather then institutions.
I don't know how anyone can try to blame an organization for the "downfall of the family unit", especially one which helped to empower women and allow them to be what they wanted and to feel good about their choices, whether that was raising kids or an outside career.

It's not just NOW. The fact is we have lost our way. Children are considered equal to parents in decision making processes. Children are just that, children. They cannot make good decisions without life experiences, yet we as parents have somehow been coerced into thinking their word is equal to ours. In the time frame you mention, parents made decisions about everything from what to prepare for dinner to vacation destinations, and children were expected to either like it or lump it..... as should be. There is no longer that line of discipline between parents and children. Children are in charge. Until this is changed, there can be no joy of life as a parent. Want to know why the divorce rate is so high? Because as parents we have lost our joy of life. We want a change because we feel no longer in control of our own destinies, we've given that control to our children. Life should be about a mature married couple in control of their children. NOT children in control of the couple.
