...if you found your dream home and wanted to buy it but found out it had a tragic past, like murder(s), would you still buy it?

That would depend on the tragedy. If it was my ex mother in law that got murdered there, I would definitely buy it and turn it into a shrine. Thanks, now you've got me fantasizing.

I was in this situation 2 month ago.
Found my dream house at an amazing price and later found out that there were a suicide by hanging in the garage...
Plus the address number is 66.
I passed on it. It is been on the market for 1 year with no offers and it is in a great area, totally renovated and lower than market prices asked in the area.
NOT EVEN FOR FREE!!!
So I am not alone after all...

I don't know about dream house, but rented a home that a man had died while taking his shower (Heart attack).
Didn't ever know it Until 3 days after being in the home! I had a weird thing come over me while washing my face in the bathroom. I had a feeling of someone there beside me and looking right at me. Also heard his voice (Chattering noise) and strange things happen in the home. Yet this spirit never harmed me and I felt he stayed on, to help my father pass on. My father passed on in my arms at this same place.
But for your answer, NO! Not even for free.

Yeah I would. I actually live in a home right now where the previous owner comitted suicide.Didn't bother me.All I did was have some people from my church join me in praying for this home that it might be a blessing to our family & dedicating it to God.We've been very happy here!
I just saw tanyasiv's answer & the same form of suicide was performed in this home.The guy hung himself in the garage.
