I'm looking for one that can climb gentle hills and move forward with power/no user intervention.

The grounds crew that works at my complex. Man, can they MOVE!!

All seriousness aside, if it doesn't already exist, I'd like to see you invent one and become a zillionaire. After all, there are already vacuum cleaners that clean automatically, why not a mower that mows like that?

This probably didn't help you at all...but I had fun!

Good luck in your quest.

You can find several different models that will suit your needs at home depot or lowes. They will range in price from approx. $200.00 to $400.00 and up. You mentioned that you have some slight hills and you wish to add no intervention to the mower being propelled so ask for a mower that is rear wheel drive as oppsed to front wheel drive. The front wheel model will lose traction as your bagger fills and you will need to push up on handle bars to keep tires on ground while going up hill. I have a John Deere I paid $399.00 for that is a rear wheel drive and I never have a problem mowing up my steep hills. Mower is 13 years old by the way and still runs like a champ. Just remember to clean out under the mower deck atleast every other cut, sharpen blade 2-3 times a year and change oil twice a year. You can change spark plug and air filter once a year and your mower will last 15-20 years easily.

Look at the Toro model 20073 Recycler with Personal Pace. It sells for around $359 and can be found at your local Toro dealer, or Home Depot. Check out http://www.toro.com

This is the best Self propelled system I have seen.

buy the craftsman rear propelled with easy walk/a good horsepower torque at least 6.50 or higher will help you control the speed as you climb and turn,,also the gears in the rear wheels give you traction as you clinb those hills.

Buy a mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine. Stay away from Tecumseh as they are very tempermental and don't hold up as well as a Briggs.
