If you have a balanced chemical equation (be sure you do!), simply count the number of each type of atom on each side. You should find that the numbers are the same. For example:

H2 + H2 + O2 ---> H2O + H2O

There are four hydrogen atoms on the left side, and four on the right side. There are two oxygen atoms on the left side, and two on the right side. Thus, it is balanced, and the mass of the products equals the mass of the reactants.
