the government's job is to help the poor. read your constitution. we need to do something about the poverty here in the US. I mean millions of poor kids are still playing with playstation TWO'S while plugged into ancient ANALOG cathode ray television sets. And they have to SUFFER because their single parent can only afford BASIC cable television instead of the full package. And there is only two cell phones in poor households. I mean something has got to be done to narrow the gap between the haves and the have nots!

Coulterbasher. I've seen poor, here in America, my potrayal is accurate. Go to any public housing project. there's no poverty there, only laziness. Try going to Mexico or central America where families are living in refridgerator boxes. Americans don't have a god damned clue what poverty is. The sob stories you cite simply do not exist in this country. If you need help, you simply ask for it, and you recieve. Go to any public housing project, open the door and you will find several television sets running, at least one dvd player, a computer, and a car parked out front. I know this to be true, because unlike you, I've LIVED THERE.

That's great make fun of the people who are poor over here in the United States, guess some of us were born with a silver spoon in their mouths and can't fathom that there are people here who have nothing. Don't bother to look around you, just stay in your wonderful safe, and prosperous neighborhood, with Daddy's money to fall back on.
Have you ever seen a woman on the street with 3 kids to feed, sharing one donut between them. Have you ever walked into a room, and watched a child lying on the floor with no heat, and the temperature outside is the same as inside, at just above 0 degrees, and you can hear that child's bones tapping the floor as he is shivering under a thin sheet?
Have you ever had children wait for you to come to them, so that they have the only moment of security given to them when you get there, and they know you won't let them starve, given them all you can and yet you have to leave them behind, because they aren't yours, and you have no right to interfere with their lives. You hope that the next time you come, they will all still be there, alive and well? Yeah, we're so spoiled here in America, millions without healthcare, millions losing their jobs, their homes, and all you can see is the a joke. Open your eyes, it not funny.

waycar ...I have seen it myself , there is a low rent district here , people living in an apartment for $20.00 per month , yes I said twenty dollars .. they get hundreds in food stamps
( EBT ) plus the welfare check , they dayum parking lot looks like a GD Navigator Ralley , with a few Escalade's ...and yes the only thing over there that is white is the numbers on the door , and the lines in the parking lot ...
Most people in poverty are there because they chose to party insted of get an education ... the average poor person in America has a home , and car ..that is not poor..compared to most countries ......I am not talking about our Beloved Seniors on a fixed income here , I am talkling about able bodied men ,and women , instead of working the woman lounges around all day while the guy shoots hoops , and hangs oout with the others on the free ride of life...

The truth is the U S spends a lot on both and many other countries and "charities." As for those poor kids/families you speak of: yes, what a shame. Perhaps the kids should just go outside and play. When I was young and it was to cold I drew dials and gauges on a cardboard box and pretended to fly a spaceship etc.

Because we have an unlimited money supply so long as the government has authority to make us pay taxes.
Governments job is NOT to help the poor! and I have read the constitution, many many times. I see nowhere.. ANYWHERE where it says "government jobs is to help poor people"
Government is not to provide for people. Governments sole legitimate role.. ANY form of government you like, not just ours.. the only reason man creates such things as rulers and nations is to to protect your rights form others that would take them away. This includes FROM your own government itself. Every other thing governments do beyond this is tyranny. Governments are a fiction created by man to rule other men.
Watch the video below, you may understand.

First: There are more poor people in Iraq than in the U.S.
Second: There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that gives big government the Right to use Working American Families hard earned money as a reward payout to those who refuse to work.
Third: The environmentalists/ Stalinist in this country have placed our energy deposits in this country, OFF Limit's to oil and coal production. Therefore, we go to War for Oil, thanks to the so-called environmentalists.

I do hope that was a joke. Being poor, does not mean not having the newest video games, or Cable,or cell phones, Try watching people sleeping on the Streets, and looking for something to eat, out of Dumpsters, behind Fast,Foods Restaurant's. Now thats a have-not, Get you ideas of what being poor really is. Straight.

The lowest income people I personally know have a TV, satellite & DVD in every room, go out to eat several times a week & are all over wieght. I've picked up nice clothes for the children at re-sale shops but the mother won't dress them in those clothes. She insists on buying new clothes.
The "poor" in the US are richer than 90 of the population of the world!.

I suppose you would have them living in shacks with no running water or electricity like third world countries. I am sorry for you that you are so hateful and judgmental, you must be very bitter. Has no one ever shown you compassion? You are poor too but in an even sadder way.
