at softball and i went to the emergency room and the said yea it was broken but i just needed to ice it. is there anything else i need to kno? also the person who threw the softball just happens to be my best friend and shes like really upset cuz she wont belive me when i said im fine wat shud i do about her?

As long as the nose has not been knocked out of alignment, ice should do the job. What you need to know is that you must avoid another injury to the nose until it is healed (so no more softball until then) and if it appears to be healing crooked or with a "bump" see a doctor right away. Also, it will not be unusual to end up with two beautiful shiners so don't panic if you awaken a day or two later with gorgeous black eyes!

Your friend is feeling guilty over accidentally injuring you and fear that she will lose her friendship over this accident. She is also worried that she caused you a lot of pain. All you can do is reassure her. Tell her that you treasure her too much to let a broken nose destroy a good friendship...then hug her. It will end her fear over losing you. She just needs reassurance and time to deal with her feelings.
