I homeschooled my son for a few years until he wanted to be around other kids. We live in Texas, no special degree is needed. Must be done "in a bona fide manner" (not a sham or subterfuge), have a curriculum "consisting of books, workbooks, other written materials, including that which appears on a computer screen or video tape monitor, . . . developed or obtained from any source", and the curriculum must be "designed to meet basic education goals of reading, spelling, grammar, mathematics and a study of good citizenship."

Homeschooling is teaching your children at home. Many parents band together to provide the children with all the requirements. It is especially promoted by fundamentalist church groups who do not want their children exposed to other ideas than what they teach.
Each state has it own requirements for homeschooling. They are the same curriculum that public schools have. To do your own homeschooling you must be able to prove to the state that you can do this one way or another. Contact your state department of education to find out what your requirements will be. If the seniors in your state have to take an exit exam, your kids will have to pass the same test when the time is right.

its when a parent teaches a child at home....its a better deal than public school...i think a child will learn alot more at home...then to get into a public /private school you would have to take a state test..to verify the level of learning that the child is at..
