Liberals support welfare, they support universal health care, and they support the government providing for them. They make excuses for people who are too lazy to go out and get a job. They say they are in underpriviledged areas and can't get jobs. It is not that hard to get a job. It may not be the job you want, but you can't start at the top. Universal health care broken down simply means those who work pay for health care for those who don't. Why do liberals believe everything should be given to them and they should have to earn nothing?

Ash - Greedy? What are you talking about? I probably make less money than 75% of the people on this board. I work for a non-profit company that works with people with substance abuse addictions. Anyone who works in this field knows what I am talking about. If I can afford it, others can too. It is called a budget and discpline from buying crap you don't need.

John Doe - I apologize. I use the word "liberals" loosely and am not necessarily referring to all liberals, but liberals are statistically more for free stuff than conservatives.

You answered it yourself, laziness. But no, they will come back and tell us we are heartless for not helping out those in need and blah blah blah...Well get a frickin' job it's not that hard! Do I get tired of my job, yeah, but do I go around asking for handouts because I want/need more money? No. It's MY responsibility, NOT the governments. Honest, hard working people should NOT have to pay for my laziness, or my issues.

Why do they have to be lazy? What if some people just aren't as smart and superior like you?! Some people might have a lower I.Q. or mental capacity and they need real help. Someone might not have the upbringing that you had or the advantages or the education. Can we at least give them some health coverage so they don't lay in bed at night in pain or ill health? Besides, they can't help themselves if they are sick. They will only become more dependent on the system.
Believe or not, I am not a bleeding liberal.

lazy? im not to sure about that. nothing has been given to me in my entire life. I started my first job when I was 11, i worked for my cousin on the weekends and all summer, when i was 18 i started my own distribution company out of a 1500 sq ft. office in a toxic waste part of town. 3 years later i own my own home, im on my way to owning a 30,000 sq.ft. warehouse i have never taken a handout in my entire life, neither have my employees. so i dont want to hear this garbage. so it time to go to school, trick.
1.Welfare- it looks great on paper, but instead of getting rid of it completely we need welfare reform, it needs to be more regulated than at the county level, it needs to be a city level so its not spread so thin.
2. Universal Heath Care- since the unemployment rate is this country is below 5% you would be paying for 95% of the employed population, or the over 40 million uninsured working americans who can get health care because they can only work part time or their employer does not provide heathcare. why shouldnt every american be healthy? besides a healthy american makes healthy soliders right? thats what kind of neo-can elitesest bull-sh!t that you buy into.

Both sides (democrats and republicans) have been wrong in the way they've handled this situation
Democrats are wrong to support laziness and hand outs.
Republicans are wrong for fighting for teenaged welfare girls to have unwanted crack babies and not terminate their pregnancies, just so they can wait for that same baby to be born, not have the handouts, then when he grows up having to rob to eat, then we kill that same baby by capital punishment.
Both sides need to re-evaluate not rewarding society's leeches. The welfare system should be for decent people down on their luck as a temporary means to avoid having to commit crimes while they look for employment, not as a means of generational parasitic taking and taking and taking and still commiting crimes while taking.
It's wrong. It's all warped.

I'm a republican..I own my own home, no mortgage. I work.
I am so sick of being associated with people like you that call yourselves republican.
Republicans don't have the hate you do for people that NEED a helping hand. Sometimes they do need that helping hand for life.
I don't want able bodied people living on welfare. But do you realize most of the people on welfare are little kids? We have poor right here. People lose their jobs, a parent gets killed, health issues. YOU COULD BE ONE ON THEM SOMEDAY! IF NOT YOU IT COULD BE A FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND. Will you just kill them or let them starve?
Bill Clinton reformed welfare and did get alot of generational welfare families to work. I commend him for that.
You make republicans look like monsters!
If you are the true Representative of my party I have been sooooooo wrong and so ashamed at myself.

I am not lazy, I just think it is good to share with those that need help. And I believe the government is in the best position to help those in need. If I have to pay taxes so poor children can eat and have a place to sleep then so be it.
I work very hard and make good money doing it. Most "libs" have good jobs and contribute to society, and are happy to do so. People like you just want to keep it all for yourselves.

Ha ha! Isn't that the truth! All the liberals I know have no job or have a low paying job, yet want all their wealthy conservative friends to help pay their expenses. They're also hypocrites and think they're smarter than everybody else. I've also noticed they base their strong opinions on partial information without knowing the whole truth behind various issues, much of it based on assumptions. One liberal friend I had was obese and too lazy to take his trash out or clean his apartment. They're poor and live off of their friends because they're LAZY. LOL! This is consistent with liberals on welfare. I don't think you'll find many conservatives on welfare.

They support the high level of government control over basic necessities because they want to control people. When you provide them food, shelter, and health care, you own them.

Your suppositions are way off base. Like most "Conservatives" on yahoo answers, you assume you know the "facts" about Liberals from listing to Rush and the rest of the pack. Their job is to brainwash people against any progressive thinking, looks like it worked on you.
