i pulled out of work and the lights dimmed and it quite charging ......had auto parts check alternator and it is fine i was told it is either a power or ground wire any ideas?

how fast did the lights dim? Was it wet out? If it was quite sudden it could be the positive battery cable worn through and touching metal somewhere; at night wiggle that cable, it'll spark and you'll see it. Before tearing everything apart try that. Always start with the cheapest part!

Check your ground wire to the frame, check both wires on the battery, if the alternator is good, then the battery is bad.... it's pretty simple, the charging system.

um could be either but form ur description could be ground find out where it ground and look for dirty loose connections and make sure it not messed up along the wire or and the alternator

It could be as simple as a blown fuse under the dash marked "ALT"

The fuse gives the alternator the signal to charge, or as they say, it excites it.

clean the battie cable, the where the wires go into the alterator, i look close at them, sould like they may be loose an need to be change. also have the reg later , check,

Bad battery if alt checks out.
