As far as I'm concerned, it's immoral to take fruits of one's labor (money), and simply hand it over to someone else. If you disagree, give me your address and I'll test your commitment to your belief.

No.

People do not act responsibly and others should not have to pay for their lack of self-control. Those really needing care because of unforeseen ailments will always get it. Spending $100's of thousands on people who cannot control their eating is not my thought of "Health Care."

Universal care will be a major black hole for taxpayer funds.

Socialized medicine is a HORRIBLE idea! It's miserable in Europe and Canada. They are even slowly introducing private hospitals over there because social medicine sucks! Aside from the high taxes that will be raped from us, there is no incentive for doctors to give exceptional care, insane wait times and the government gets to decide whether or not you are even eligible to see the doctor! 85% of the US has health insurance, by all means that's a great great number, one that doesnt need to be fixed! Why do you think most Canadians come here for medical procedures?

Healthcare is NOT a basic necessity right! By forcing a physician to care for someone because it is the patients right of healthcare, you are taking away a physians right to choose who they render their services to! Health care as well as any other service or product is a privilege and should be out of the hands of a stagnant government monopoly! Let capitalism take care of it, if we get rid of all the special interest groups that are backed by government out of the health care business it wouldn't be so expensive and corrupt! Plus stop all these ludicrous law suits, problem solved!

Everyone would be paying for everyone.Universal Health Care is a good concept but needs serious thought before it's put into action.Like HMO's ,everyone I talk to are sick of them even doctors.I've taken care of heart and cancer patients that couldn't do tests or treatments because of their HMO's.Disgraceful really. Then if something goes wrong who gets sued? The doctor.Which raises his insurance sky high and in turn you pay for it every time you go.Our healthcare system is broken. There won't be a quick fix but we need to start addressing it somehow.A viable Universal Health care plan is the best way I can see.

Good question. But health care costs are getting so high there is a reasonable chance that all our employers will begin to cut back soon (affecting you, me and all the rest of people who actually work/pay taxes etc.). I'm reserving judgement until I see what's being proposed.

been paying for it for years -- how about getting a
little service from providers instead of the "we don't
cover this and that" ? I don't mind paying a little extra
for everyone to be covered, but not at all pleased with the pocket filling that takes place at all levels.

Of course not! I'm sick and tired of the whole "entitlement class" we've created in this country. Not only here, but in the rest of the world as well, where every place else feels that the U.S. taxpayer should subsidize all medical research while they get cheap meds.

It depends on whether you think basic healthcare should be a right rather than a privilige.

Personally I think it should be a right, and that basic health care should be payed for by the government via taxation of the people. If this means you wont be able to buy that
Porshe then so be it.

You are paying for yourself, others, and ensuring the continued prosperity of our nation.

It help ensures that all Americans have access the "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Many working middle class are losing benefits and infant mortality is on the rise. Even the Chair of the Federal Reserve has stated that such disparity will hinder the future prosperity of America.

Go ahead and email if you want.

No its not fair. But i do believe basic health care should be given to children, they didn't ask to be born into poor families.
It should be illegal to be forced to pay for others problems. Especially when many of their health problems are avoidable with exercise and a good diet.

Well that's how the Dems think. Force everyone into a communistic society, where people that work hard to become wealthy get screwed.
