Yankee fan, and the Yes channel guys r good. They had Jim Kaat and Bobby Murcer, who were very informative, but Michael Kay ruins the whole thing. I can't listen 2 him. He's way 2 pompus and thinks he know everything.

Phillies fan here. I grew up with Harry Kalas and Richie Ashburn. They were awesome. Ashburn died 10 years ago and I still miss hearing him.

Right now, it's Kalas, Chris Wheeler, and Gary Matthews. Age has caught up with Kalas a little, but he's still one of the best. Wheeler I find very condescending. He acts like nobody else knows anything about baseball. Matthews seems a little out of his element in the booth, but I'll give him some more time before I sway my opinion one way or another.

The main problem I have with Wheeler and Matthews (along with many other broadcasters across the board) is that they never shut up. One of the things I loved about Ashburn was that he was not afraid of silence. If nothing needed to be said, nothing was said.

I live in the Bay Area and watch both Giants and A's Games. The A's guys are more serious about baseball which is usually good but sometimes Ray Fosse won't shut up about Eric Chavez' gold gloves or Jason Kendall's catching ability. The Giants guys are alright but when they start showing the fans in the stands and calling them "meat" and "eliminating" them they are annoying but I guess they need something to do when the giants are doing their normal losing thing.

I watched a White sox game last year on their local broadcast and the announcers were the worst "homers". Every whitesox player was the best to them... annoying.

The braves guys are pretty good, but sometimes they put me too sleep.

Of course I don't get to watch them any more, but Mike Krukow and Dwayne Kuiper on Fox Bay Area are my vote for the best broadcast team in baseball. They are very entertaining without acting like the audience is a bunch of morons like you get from Tim McCarver. Now that I'm in WA I don't like the Mariner's broadcast team that much, even though they have improved since they got rid of Ron Fairly(accurate). Now if Dave Neihouse would just retire, I hate announcers that are too blind to see past the infield.
