Laziness and memory loss cost an employer productivity and therefore is already a drain on the economy. That plus the cost of accidents on the highway by people under the influence would go up, which would cost victims money and lost wages for employers. I don't see how it contributes $3B annually when most of it probably goes offshore and not back into the economy.
It would continue to hinder the economy, because there would be more dope smokers dragging it down further.

properly there are countries like the Netherlands the place that style of element is criminal (as is prostitution). i assume if this is the life that one chooses, you're able to desire to look at morality and how that life form impacts all that ultimate? Frankly pot makes human beings stupid. i think of there is not any shortages of that because it incredibly is. An interior the u . s . a . and different areas of the international, the place abuse is ramped for many stuff (alcohol/drugs-exceedingly criminal ones) in any case, it would merely motivate drug use. as quickly as you test with one sort, you're certain to test with yet another. regulation officers should not be centred on minor marijuana clientele, and penalize them. that is what ties up the judicial structures. somewhat their concentration ought to be on people who sell the stuff and make the sentences stiffer. somebody stumbled on with a joint or 2 ought to settle for a hefty superb, say $500 and/or be made to do community paintings. somebody advertising ought to be charged criminally and given penal complex time. back it would be based on the quantity, how cooperative they are (revealing their components) and issues of that nature.

It's actually the 2nd largest crop grow in America. Corn is #1.
If it was legal it would bring in much more than just $3 Billion a year. It would be a huge Cash crop for the US not to mention all the money that wouldn't have to used for law enforcement against drug dealers/users/traffickers. If fact if they made it legal all of those criminals would disappear.
Legalization of pot on so many levels would be enormously beneficial to the US.

Increased tax revenues.
Less tax money spent on arresting, prosecuting and imprisoning those dangerous smokers and purveyors of weed.
The people who don't go to prison for weed can go on to get actual jobs (thanks to not having a criminal record) and contribute to the economy as productive members of society instead of burger flipping former felons.
Sounds like a win-win to me.

it would almost certainly help, especially in the long run. we make a killing just off of cigarettes and alcohol... stick marijuana on the list and that's just that much more income. legalizing marijuana will also destroy the income of terroristic drug lords in latin america and even here in the US and make the war on more dangerous drugs less less hazardous to our law enforcement. it will save money and resources spent on convicting and imprisoning those in possession and make it safer to use through regulation (safety inspected, filters, etc.)

The drug trade would have to pay taxes if it was legal. Difficult to say if that would help, MJ prices would fall and less money going around. Not sure if the taxes would offset it.
It would definitely help crime. Less illegal activity.

take into account the taxes that would be assessed on it, the prison guards and narcs that wouldn't be needed and the amount of money spent prosecuting these hardened reefer addicts (of which I'm one) and I think it would be a help. The farmers who grow it and the processors and transporters would all also be making money and paying taxes.

Pot is not a necessity, its a wasteful product. Money goes into growing, and selling it but that money could be used for better more essential things.

You dems are full of ideas, but stupid ones that want to corrupt our society. You aren't for making America better, you're for making America go under.
