Perform in productions in your city and invite Talent Agents to attend the production. Leave a free ticket so they don't have to pay to see the production.

It is a tough process and be careful because there are a lot of crappy people out there.
Go to SAG.org... I think there are SAG franchised agents in Hawaii???
You'll need good face shots and a 3/4 length shot to give the agent a good look at you.
Write a cover letter about why you would be a good person for them to represent and do lots of community theater so you'll have something for your resume.
You might want to check craigslist or Variety but if you are in Hawaii, the best bet would be for you to find out who does the extras casting for films shot there and register with them... it's a foot in anyway!
Good luck... it's a tough industry!

Before you get a talent agent, you need to have talent. If you have had any experience or acting classes thats great. Then, some agencies hold auditions weekly for new clients. Stand out, thats the most important part. If you live in LA, thats your best bet. I only know seattle agencies. Try the internet some more. Any ?'s, leave me a message.

Ask your actor friends or acting teacher, they are always the best resources for anything related to acting.
Are you ready for a Talent Agent? Have you performed in a lot of plays? Do you have experience in performing in local and/or regional theatre productions?
Is your résumé full of lead roles, that will make a Talent Agent "take notice" of it?
Ask yourself what you can bring to the talent agent that he or she may not already have on their talent list?
You're selling yourself to an Agent, what is your "sales pitch," to him or her? How many dialects are you proficient? How many languages do you speak? In which dialects are you proficient?
How many years did you study acting? Where did you go to acting school? In which technique did the school train you?
In which dance are you proficient? Jazz, tap, ballet, what is your vocal range? Which instruments do you play? What foreign languages do you speak?

It depends where you live. Usually the process is contact them to see if they're accepting submissions, then send in your headshot and resume. You'll probably get a "thanks but we have enough people of your type and experience" letter. Re-submit in six months.
