Ok i just had a 350 put in and the problem i am having is that when the truck is at idle it runs smooth but when it is put in drive it is real shaky. What is the deal, i have a edelbrock carburetor, new fuel pump, new filter.I don't know if it the carb adjustments or maybe the flywheel. Please help and give details!!

Sounds like a vacumleak in the system.Once you find the leak it should run fine.Check the base of the carb and all vacum lines. GOOD LUCK. Dont forget to set base idle speed and ing timeing.

It sounds like the transmission is dragging on the engine, causing the idle speed to drop a little too low. Try raising the idle speed just a little. The only other possible reason is that the torque converter isn't unlocking, therefore not allowing enough slip, which will also cause the idle speed to drop.

Good luck!

Automatic? Have your TCC (torque converter control) solenoid checked...it may be stuck, leaving your converter in "lock up" all the time...
