i like salt water , my favorite fish i think is the achillies tang!

Both. I have several of each. They all have their different personalities and looks.
I like my Bichers and Rafael and Banjo cats, Jack Dempseys, Oscars and Puffers in my fresh water tanks. And my Bettas.
My favorite saltwater fish is my Mandarin fish, though the Scooters and Damsels are fun to watch too. (One of the damsels tries to intimidate me whenever I watch the tank)
The favorite fish that I have are in my brackish tank. There's a Figure Eight puffer (quite the personality sometimes) , some Bumblebee Gobies, and some flounders.

To me you can't compare the two, or even most fish in either group to other fish in the group. Fish are so diverse it's hard to even find a good starting point for comparing them. I do love saltwater fish in general for their color and entertaining activity, but on the other hand I love to breed freshwater fishes and enjoy the variety of habitats they come from.

It's kind of comparing apples to oranges, but personally I like freshwater fish best because I love angelfish.

I like and keep both. My favorite in freshwater are bettas. My favorite in saltwater would be a longnose hawkfish (see photo: http://www.divegallery.com/Hawkfish_longnose.jpg These have a really great personality and learn to recognize their owners. They're also fun to watch eat - they aren't good swimmers, so they perch and dive at their prey.
