What characterizes popular attitudes about the relationship between science and religious belief? I'm trying to locate and gather examples from such sources as radio, television, newspapers, periodicals, etc.

science and religion were never enemies per se.

the conflict of doctrinal Christians against science does not incriminate all religions or even all Christians.

Since the times of Galileo and Copernicus, when science began to understand that the earth was not the center of the universe, doctrinal Christians have been trying to clamp down on science. That continues today with evolution and other aspects of science.
