Every house hold should be allowed to have a firearm.
Amo hidden in one part of the House. firearm in another.
Hidden from all except one or 2 responsible, sain , registered adults.
If the firearm is to be taken outside the home for recreation or hunting, That too should be registered., and enforced.

I thought handguns were pretty good for self defense. .357 Magnum has alway worked in my house.
