Um, immediatly. You need to get him used to you holding him. He's on one of the lowest rings on the food chain so he's ver y nervous and jittery. But the sooner and more you hold him the more he'll be used to it. And make sure you don't smell like food, he'll poo on you if you don't.

I would say in this day or tommorow. You missed a good time to start to which was 2-3 days ago. In order to hold it in a good way use bribery. Put a treat in your hand and let it come in. While it's eating gradually lower them down to your lap so that makes a trust bond. Make it short though. As you do it more extend that time. In a whiile they'll come in your hand when you want to play with them without bribery.

He/she (not "it") can be held right away. Whether or not the guinea pig ends up liking being held is a different story. Letting him/her them sit on your lap usually works best, in my experience.

well, rodents (such as guinea pigs) are prey animals, so they are very shy, and nervous, and cautious to trust. right now, you need to just start petting him, and sticking your hand in the cage. let him get used to your presence. when you see him liking you a little more, then try to pick him up. just work toward it gradually.
i hope this helps!!

You can immediately start holding it after its 2 months old. You should start holding it now though, so it will get to know you.

Now you need to start holding him as soon as possible so he knows that you love him and that humans are friends not foes if he thinks that humans are foes he will never let any one hold or touch him. So go and show him that you are his friend.
