those troops will attack the White House & forcefully remove her from the Presidency?

(Because they are so pissed off that she made them "cut & run" from Iraq)

Aristotle - so you don't actually know anyone who is in Iraq, or anyone who has come back? -- Go do some charity work at your local VA hospital and then see what you think. A lot of the vets coming home don't share your opinion. It is one thing to lay your life on the line for freedom of your country. But these young people have discovered that isn't what they are fighting for. -k-

Do you assume that Hillary will actually BE elected? Or do you mean, IF she is elected AND brings troops back, THEN will the troops attack the WH and kick her out?

Let's assume you mean exactly what you say: she's gonna get the vote and she's gonna bring 'em home. If so, that would mean she's changed her mind, because nothing I can find about her Iraqi plans entails bringing the troops home -at least, not as an immediate, first step.

But 'spose she DID. Will the troops attack? They might protest, demonstrate or otherwise express displeasure, but I doubt they would mount a military operation and attempt a "coup." And if they DID, there would be enough OTHER troops who would drive them off. Your question is a bit silly.

Let's drill down. Hillary elected? I doubt it. Nominated? Maybe. And I would be glad to see a female as a serious presidential candidate; long overdue. But that nomination would be a gift to the Republicans, because Hillary really isn't very good at what she does. Remember her health care legislation? You don't?! I rest my case.

The one thing that Big Bill and Big Hill share -aside from terminal self-love, hubris and narcissism- is that they are highly disorganized people who don't have the executive smarts to put good ideas into actual practice. They are very good politicians in that they can get a lot of people to agree with them on a lot of issues. And that's where the rub comes in: too much support from too many groups of opposing views -and NOTHING gets done. Like herding cats.

And thanks to Bama romanna donna -or whatever- there has been a fair amount of mud flung at Hillary, which will no doubt become ammo for the Republicans.

What about "Smokin' Joe" Lieberman. The guy's got it right in terms of clear identity with just a few issues (Iraq, heath care) and so has enormous mass appeal; he's not hard to figure out. Unfortunately, his party (the dems) don't like him because he doesn't just parrot their latest positions, positions which even THEY find difficult to articulate. Because nomination is essentially a political process -not a democratic process- he ain't gonna get nominated. Too bad about that.

So I say: Hillary won't be next prez.

And therefore, "Aristotle," your whole argument falls apart and I win. Ha!

Don't be silly. I think it is pretty obvious that Hillary would not bring the troops home. If you listen to what she is saying, essentially she will keep all most all of the troops there but she will have then doing different work. She is not making any sense on this issue. She wants to bring the troops home but she knows that it would be a disaster so her plan is to end the war without bring the troops home.

She is probably just scared the troops will come after her.

You are giving a double question and both double-barrelled questions and essentially answering the questions. It is far from certain that Senator Clinton will be elected. It is also far form certain that as President that she would bring them home. President Bush has taken the worst of all positions with no payoff to him? Why? I suspect it is because he knows something the others do not. Why does he not tell us? Think about it.
