Heres more things i'd like to add

School 1:
- private catholic
- can get expensive
- low standards in acceptance rate (excepts alot of minorities for their skin color, not transcript)
- used to have a very good name but now it is falling and using its "name" as a marketing tool. however, it does work because in this age "name is eevrything". and companies around nyc see that
- people are said to be immature and act like high school students.
- alot of colliagte thugs who have that ny attitude
- certain programs are very good
- ciore cirriculum class that is both good and bad.
- Opportunities are endless

School 2:
- not diverse at all
- can be narrow-minded
- loud
- you have to "search" for friends instead of make them because the campus is too big
- public college

The ultimate answer is going to come down to you, what you want to study and what kind of college experience you want to have. The second choice seems overall better, mostly due to its better academic program. That is essentially the reason you go to college. Don't worry about the dorms - most students only live there during their freshman year, and also internships are available at all schools. Financial aid is extremely important, because college is not free. However, if you want to live in NYC, go for choice 1, but if education is the main goal, I personally think 2 is the better option.

Neither one.

From your view, there are serious negatives with both of them. There are so many schools to choose from that if you have strong doubts about these two, maybe you need to look at other options.

Your comments about school one and the student body make it sound like you don't see yourself fitting in there. But your comments of viewing school two as maybe too big and too party-oriented make it sound like you doubt your happiness with it as well. Keep in mind the "party" reputation is often a small group of rowdies, because the school wouldn't have a good academic program and prestige if the entire student body was drunk most the time.

Investigate schools three and four and see how your thoughts about them influence your ideas of the first two. You may have narrowed your choices too quickly.

Keep in mind that overall reputation of a school may not pertain to the program you specifically want for a major. If you describe school one as "somewhat decent" overall, what does it look like for your chosen area? School two may be prestigious but it may be lacking in the area you want to study. Don't buy into generalities without investigating whether they are true for your specific questions and needs. Good luck.

School 2

first of all, NYC is not that dangerous anymore.

next, good internship opportunities in NYC can really open doors career-wise, especially in news, communications, publishing, finance and other fields NYC is known for.

if you stick to your work, the student body issues are irrelevant, but the financial aid question is for you to weigh, depending on your need.

the other school sounds good, too, but the drinking/partying culture can be a negative distraction.

basically, it seems to boil down to: would your career dream be better served by connections and experience, or by a prestigious name to hang on the wall?

if u really want to do well and what u are good for is the academics, school 2 for sure. if u don't really care your just going there to finish school then school 1. But any really good student would choose school 1.

Honestly? School 2

School One.

Is it NYU? That is my dream college. My favorite place in the world is NYC, so you can see why I'd choose that one.

You shouldn't really see how many votes each college receieves, because you shouldn't be influenced by other opinions. Choose the one that you believe is better (visit the campus to help your decision).
