You know when they stop you for bogus tags,runninng a red light,no u turn,etc... and you sort of talk them out of the ticket, pretty women are good at this, well are they BREAKING THE LAW by not giving you a ticket for BREAKING THE LAW?
Just curious to know what your views are on this!

People who inforce the law should obey the law! I have heard police officers have to obey they law and are allowed to go 10mph over the limit. I this there should be police policing the police

NO, They are NOT breaking the law. Officers have discretion on how to enforce the law. They can make the stop, and issue you a verbal warning, a written warning, or a ticket. OR worse you can get LOCKED UP. And truth be told, when I made a stop I went with attitude. If I stopped you for a red light the worst thing you could tell me was "That light wasn't red, OR But officer, that light was yellow" Either or was a written ticket. But if the person fessed up so to say, they usually drove away with a verbal.

In most jurisdictions the police have a wide latitude in deciding how to handle minor violations and offenses. Letting someone go with a verbal warning is not all that uncommon. Been there, done that -- and as you can see from my pic, I damn sure ain't no PYT!

No. They have discretion as to whether or not to write a ticket, unless there has been property damage.
