Perhaps he was disenfranchised from the American Dream; through being horribly marginalized by overt bullying and teasing in the classroom (shame on teachers wo allow that to go un addressed) and emigrant parents forced to work all the time.
Instead of valuing time with him in spite of their concerns he was ill, they thought they should earn money, send the children to colleges--with the hope they succeed and become Americanized.
Unfortunately, this young man who likely had organic mental illness tendencies, became the victim of extreme aloneness at home and a sense of obstracization at school.
When he reached the age of really desiring a girlfriend and the normal things kids want, he became psychotic with resentment and a sense of there being no hope to succeed. If everytime he opened his mouth, his peers laughed at his voice, wouldn't he avoid graduating from college and being forced to speak in order to get work, buy a car, buy a home, get a wife...? He was a senior--almost time to graduate and face the music of his perceived lacking, right??
His family even avoided church, so it wasn't like he could even fall back on getting someone devote who would not care if he was not social. No, that hole was plugged, too.
My feeling is, this person was steamrolled by the western culture--and instead of just killing himself and disappearring into the universe, he saw the faces of all those other kids as representing HIS losses instead of what they would lose..what their families would lose.
Is this the definition of mental illness or a an unusual snapshot of how some people crumble off the edges of the American Dream?

He was mentally ill, but not in terms of anything that can be corrected in a hospital or by medicine.
For years, his deranged mind constructed the idea that he was somehow being 'oppressed' by rich people's kids and that the only way he could 'liberate' himself was by murdering people he perceived to be against him.
He was a psychopath who held other people as being valueless and was thus able to commit his horrendous crime.
He was not the 'victim' of bullying nor was he driven to do what he did by 'society.' He was insane and he wanted to kill. It's really as simple as that. Anybody who says that "talking to him" or being "compassionate" would have helped avoid the situation is full of it. Communicating one's "issues" with others does not help those who desire to maim and kill.
He needed prison gaurds, not sympathizers.

He is under too much pressure which comes from this society and himself. communications are indispensable in this society .because when you communicate with others ,u can release your pressure and get yourself accepted .If you isolate from other people ,as the time goes ,the accumulated pressure will turn to some psychological problems .and one day it may burst out by a violent way like killing people.

He grew to become into mentally unwell, yet not in terms of something which may be corrected in a scientific institution or via medicine. For years, his deranged ideas built the thought he grew to become into by some ability being 'oppressed' via wealthy human beings's little ones and that the only way he might desire to 'launch' himself grew to become into via murdering human beings he seemed to be against him. He grew to become right into a psychopath who held individuals as being valueless and grew to become into for this reason waiting to dedicate his horrendous crime. He grew to become into not the 'sufferer' of bullying nor grew to become into he pushed to do what he did via 'society.' He grew to become into insane and he had to kill. that's incredibly so ordinary as that. all people who says that "speaking to him" or being "compassionate" might have helped sidestep the placement is stuffed with it. conversing one's "subject concerns" with others would not help people who want to maim and kill. He mandatory reformatory gaurds, not sympathizers.

Based on the video footage I think he suffered from paranoid schizophrania. He had the mentality that it was him against the world. he felt he had to do what he did, he seemed kind of dellusional or percieved an alternat reality.

Because the rich kids were being mean and made him cry. Don't waste your time indulging in this cowards dreadful acts. A true MAN would have walked up to a group of kids he seen as the "enemy" and started a fist fight.

He killed 32 and HIMSELF! He was probably teased and bullied and finally got tired of it so he did what any other well adjusted pyschopath would do and took matters into his own hands.

he was just real messed up. and the crazy thing is that people knew before the shooting that he was messed up. he needed someone to take him to church. tell them that they loved him. idk. but do something so that he didn't think it was his last resort. but one thing i do kno is that it wrong that the media (like news and stuff) is letting him get famous off of this. its wrong that they're doing that. a killer should not become a celebrity. even if he is infamous!!
