Slocum House.
I took my mom, and soon to be mother in law there about 2 years ago... it was nice. pretty amosphere, good food, good service. It was a little pricy, but no more really than lots of places for mother's day brunch. There was even a harpist, which really made the experience even nicer. I'd say go there!

All those other ideas are great, but with an eight year old along;you can't skip Old sacramentos Rail Road Museum (sic?) and a ride on the train. It's alot of fun,and great scenery of the river.

Chanterelle (downtown) and the Firehouse (Old Sacramento) have both great food and atmosphere, and I hear their brunch is fantastic.

Hi cschappertdesigns, happy Friday.
The Slocum House in Fair Oaks is great. You will have to make your reservation soon because it is in demand. I suggest dining outside with the roosters and hens. =0>
You, Mom and child are all sure to enjoy...
All the best to you.
I hope you will bless and be blessed today.

The Cheesecake Factory i believe is a really good place to go to. awesome food, awesome cheesecakes, and a very beautiful resturant. but it's kinda hard getting a seat during the weekends unless you have reservations.
also while you're done eating, you could go to the mall where they will probably have a big mothers' day sale at macy*s. ;]

one in each of my favorites for a sweet one is Cheesecake filling with clean strawberries and genuine whipped cream. I make the filling with cream cheese, Cool Whip, sugar, and vanilla. Whip the cream cheese till fluffy; upload sugar and vanilla. Whip somewhat extra; fold in Cool Whip. relax. placed some strawberries contained in the crepe; upload a very good dollop of the cheesecake filling and fold over. precise with clean strawberries and whipped cream ... yummy served with a very good cup of espresso (or if truly decadent - champagne).
