Capital Punishment is used to kill criminals, thus, they would not be locked up.

However, the current legal system has so many hoops to jump through, that they sit in prison for years and years anyway.

it wouldn't lock up more criminals, it would kill more and lessen the burden on jails. although the it can be debated on whether or not it saves money to have a criminal executed. some say the price of the process would equal the same as keeping them in jail. thats pretty much what i know about capital punichment.

NO,

Lets put it this way, other countries such as the UK and Germany do not have Capital Punishment and look at the crime rates compared to ours.
