back up your answer with explanations as to why you feel this way, and what changed between these two periods to cause you to feel this way.

I ask this question because I think if every person in america asked themselves this question, answered honestly, and then voted accordingly, we may just have a chance of making this two party system work once again...

well, I checked back in this morning, and I am ashamed and embarrassed to be american....

look down this list, the only thing that matters to 90% of these answers is how much money is in your pocket.. do the following issues have any bearing at all on the conscious of the money hungry??

1. We are currently at war.

2. We are experiencing environmental changes that have never been seen by mankind before, and its by our own hand.

3. The mean education level of the average citizen is plummeting.

4. The cost of higher education has outpaced everything (even oil).

5. Our foriegn policy is an utter disaster, and our standing in the global community is faltering rapidly.

I guess if none of this means anything to you, then you have every right to be happy with a few extra bills in your pocket and a portfolio on the rise. Personally, I couldn't live with myself knowing that I sold my soul in order for the dow to hit 13k.

the Clinton years were better for America because the country had peace and prosperity, now it's a never ending invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation from lies by design, and the largest deficit in history.

Bush years for sure. Now I make more money and I have been debt free for 5 years. I also have good and affordable health insurance for my family. During the 90s I made less money. Laid off from the job very often, heavily in debt and no health insurance.

lets see I was in high school during clinton doing e, smoking up, a little need for speed, some mushrooms, alcohol binging, acid, coke, and whippets without credit card debt but now I have to work to pay the bills under Bush. That is a no brainer. If I could only flashback to that time again. lol at you idiots who are "making more now". Ofcourse your making more now Clinton was president last in 2000. (or 1999). whichever. by the way everything cost 10 times more. Gas now 3.27 then 1.85. that is just one commodity that has increased 10 fold since Gw took office. ok not really ten fold but about doubled (gas).

lol @ thewindy. blame clinton for everyone acknowledging that bush screwed up the US by going to Iraq and calling him chimpy. It is the way he looks and he did screw up Iraq. It is not that we have disrespected the presidency but we have a president who has not earned respect.

Between 92 and 00 I got a tax refund. Between 00 and current I have only gotten a refund one year and I had to pay the highest ever this year. No income increase. Since I am middle class what does that tell you about the difference in policies?

Financially - Bush by far! My finances are not going to be posted here as explanations. Let just say - YES!

Security - President Bush did not bring on the terrorist attacks. But I cannot imagine where I would be if Clinton was in office when 911 happened.

Moral path of the country - I am very proud of President Bush's family values. I do not find myself trying to explain his behavior to youth I work with. We are paying the Clinton price now with the grotesque disrespect of our presidential office.

I think that you ask a poorly thought-out question. Those are two completely different decades in people's lives. Conditions are completely different. You can't compare apples and oranges.

But if you want an answer, my life is much better 00-08. Much better.

Clinton did nothing and ignored Terrorism..and now we are paying for it. I make more money today than I did then and I feel much safer than at any time when Clinton was in office.
What changed was the Terrorists had all of Clinton's 8 years to plan their attacks unhampered....President Bush won't stand for such tactics...
Clinton rode on the coattails of reagan, did nothing for 8 years and when President Bush took the reins, he had to begin cleaning up the mess created by the Clinton Clan

I am better off in the Bush Years.

I make 3 times what I made, and that's adjusted for inflation.

I'm not embarrassed by a leader who says things like "that depends on what the definition of is is", "I smoked marijuana in college but I didn't inhale" and "I didn't have sexual relations with that woman" (who has my semen on her dress)
