Since he's strongly anti-Iraq-war, it'd be prudent for him to cast about for some strong-defense creadentials. Insubstantial primary-campaign promises like these are a safe way to do that.

Why can't we just end the War now ? The War in Iraq has nothing to do with Obama, and we need our American troops home safely. Just give the country to Iran.
