It could be possible in a different world, but honestly I think it's impossible. Every person in the world is filled with stereotypes, propaganda, and the media doesn't help much at staying "unbiased" from the day he or she may be born.
But, I think I am talking about stereotypes in a much broader sense than an issue of ethnicity as you referred to. Everything has stereotypes, just look and listen.
It's sad, but true.

By definition, stereotypes are standardized mental pictures that are held in common by members of a group and that represent oversimplified opinions, prejudiced attitudes, or uncritical judgment. They are mental shortcuts, or heuristics that help us make "maps" of the world - they facilitate our everyday life. Stereotypes govern a lot of our process of perception and influence our behavior and judgment.
- Just grabbed that off a site real quick - I've provided a link below also...
But to sum it all - it's impossible to not stereotype - we would overload ourselves trying to actually critically analyze everyone and every situation. Not to mention it could be dangerous.
Hey who's that big shady guy with the large trenchcoat and shifty eyes walking towards me in the alley??
Do I take time to analyze his character and figure out that he's really just a normal guy who just got a call with some bad news and is anxious as hell and needed a breather and grabbed the first coat on his way out?? HELL NO I turn around and say screw that he looks like a potential homicidal maniac and high tail it the other way!!
As far as race goes- the only thing that will stop these stereotypes is EDUCATION and slow gradual change. Not to mention the media not pumping out stereotype images every 5 minutes...
So you're sorta asking two questions the first I'd say NO.
To be color blind? Possibly, depends on how optimistic you feel like being about society :)
Nice question though!

I'm thankful that I was raised this way. I do not stereotype at all.
I do not judge people by their physical appearance.
I think thats just stupid.
Nor do I stereotype someone as being a so called 'nerd, weird, geek'..
I think thats unfair, shows a lot of ignorance towards other people. I think everyone is imperfect, therefore making everyone perfect.
There is no such thing as 'the bible of perfection' if there were, then people would be reading it.
But there isn't. So, people can be what they be and how they wanna be. they are free in that aspect.
As I said, there is not such a thing as a 'perfect person'. EVERYONE is different, EVERYONE is special; unique.
THats just the way I see it.
And I'm really proud of the fact that I think in this way.
Because its the fairest and most logical way to think.

It is possible once the realization exists that people are people. I don't necessarily like the term "color blind" since it means non-recognition of color. Variety is the spice of life. The world would be boring if everyone looked the same.

Stereotyping is not confined to color. Males who are in the nursing profession are seen by many as being "gay". Females who participate in team sports that require aggressive and competitive behavior are frequently lumped into groups that are socially defined as unfeminine, and/or "gay.
I believe that it is difficult to avoid stereotyping. I find myself doing it, even if I don't want to. Bummer.

It is impossible. It would be nice if there weren't any stereotypes but it would be impossible to get rid of them. However, we can help by trying to put our prejudices aside and try our best to live in harmony. We cannot undo the situation, but we can make it better. =)

It's only possible when people quit falling into them. But it is foolish to strictly believe in stereotypes.

Yes, you simply have no preconceived ideas of anyone. If you have never talked to them spent time with them. You have no idea who they are. Regardless of their culture, race, ethnicity, etc. God bless****
