Hi, I had braxton hicks contractions for a while before having my son. They can hurt. It dont mean u will have preterm labor either. Also is this ur first pregnancy? I had my son 12 years after my other son and i thought my braxton hicks were labor pains because how much they did hurt. You will definatley know when labor hits you. Good luck making it another 7 to 8 weeks.

I have had Braxton Hicks daily since about 15-16 weeks. I'm due in 4 days, and so far, no real signs of going into labor.

BH are your body's way of warming up for labor. They tone and strengthen the uterus muscles for when you do go into labor. As long as they are not regular or more than 4-6 an hour, they're fine. I think a lot of women have them that early and go to term.

No, in fact you have them pretty much throughout pregnancy, but most women do not notice them until the last trimester. They have nothing to do with when you go into real labor.

i had them early, and my doc always suggested drinking some water because it could mean dehydration...
