December 2, 1942-Enrico Fermi's first to control nuclear fission, the world has not been the same since. Every foreign policy and international relations have had the cloud of nuclear holocaust hanging over them.

The great depression was a huge event, but WWII was bigger, and the great depression helped pave the way for it.

The wars and other events which followed WWII were smaller, and largely caused by the geopolitical systems left from the outcome of WWII.

It was either the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki , Hiroshima, man walking on the moon , the assassination of JFK which seemed to paralyze the nation or the tearing down of the Berlin Wall which eventualy flourished with the dissolution of the USSR.
