Why should we do this homework that doesn't teach us anything?
Or Why Can't the teachers actually TEACH (NOT saying this for ALL teachers but for some). They make us learn the whole chapter by ourselves at home.

If you feel that the homework isn't teaching you anything then show some initiative and do the research yourself, you have the best teaching tool anyone could want right at your fingertips. Back in my school days we would have to work 30 algebra problems; translate 50 lines of Latin; write a 500 word essay; learn the Beatitudes; work five HARD logic puzzles; and plan a science project all in one night. Suck it up and DO it you little whiner!!

A lot of times teaching is helping students apply the knowledge they have. Your job is to learn the knowledge, their job is to help you apply it...If you're older, anyway.

A teacher's primary goal is not to teach.

Your primary goal, however, is to learn.

But the direct answer to your question is that homework in and of itself is not bad, and you should do it because you are told to. Your job is not to question the motives, is it?
