The abuse doesn't stop. We have been divorced a very long time. I am still always suprised at his behavior. It is easy to say that I continue to give him power. If you know what a sociopath is like, you would know it isn't easy to start a new life because......well I don't know how to explain it. It is insane.

Wow I understand totally.
A sociopath can spend many years controling those around them and they are good at changing reality, which is confusing, but makes sinse once a person realizes what they went through for years.
My aftermath with my X is still eating away at me. I made a bad decision marrying this man and I am still paying it and so are my children.
I wish I had an answer for you. Get some counseling.
Make a choice to focus your life on something else.
People who haven't experienced the behavior of a sociopath have NO idea how twisted their world is. And the pain and crazyess they leave along their path in life.
Karma will take care of them. Meanwhile those of us what lived with the, well, we are hurt and damaged, but we need to work on a better life. It is easy for me to say that, but when my X kicks me when I am down I go right back to that painful place where I lived in for so long.

I would like to have more info, children, occupation, own or rent. The reason is that oft times it is best for you to move away. Leave no forwarding address and swear every one to secret. This is vital! You can also suggest Dr and meds because with proper meds it can be controlled
