That they are trying to say that it restricts women from getting late term abortions without any regard for a woman's 'need' or 'health issues'...? .Are you aware that the ban only prohibits the gruesome acts associated with delivering the baby's body and then killing it before the head is delivered? And did you know that it is NEVER EVER more physically safe or medically necessary for a woman to have that form of an abortion that to give live birth to the baby? It is all a big lie to make people think they are losing their choice to kill their children - when they are only loosing their option to have a doctor brutally murder the child while it is half-born....and they can still kill the kid full term by burning it to death with a chemical abortion and deliver a still born.....did you know that?

I am a woman who has had an abortion. It is never medically necessary to deliver a baby's body and then thrust a scissors into it's brain to kill it, then suction the brains and collapse the head. It is ALWAYS MORE DANGEROUS TO THE WOMAN to have this procedure than to have the child alive - ALWAYS. That is a fact.

I also know that the ban won't save a single baby's life. I also think it's a way for the GOP to toss their sheeple a bone--because Bush and his bunch have NO intent of ever criminalizing abortion.

PP is not lying about the federal ban on partial birth abortions. "The gruesome acts associated with delivering the baby's body and then killing it before the head is delivered" is exactly what a partial birth abortion is. A chemical abortion is not the same as a partial birth abortion...so how are they lying?

If you were to go into Planned Parenthood and ask for information on your options, they would give you ALL THE OPTIONS. They are the most informed and organized women's reproductive health clinic in the nation and likely the last of the clinics who would lie to the populus. Look up the Pregnancy Centers of Central Virginia if you want to see a health clinic that isn't entirely honest.

I'm not saying I disagree with you about partial birth abortions being a bit much. Personally, I think that if a woman waits 9 months to decide to get an abortion, she is entirely irresponsible (medical and extreme circumstances excluded, of course). However, that is her choice to make and she should have all of the options available to her.

Stop your PP bashing and rabble rousing. Any woman who ever had an abortion (and the men who have supported them during the process) should be grateful to PP for providing them with the option to make an informed decision about their lives. The vast majority of abortions are performed in the first trimester. No woman would chose a late term abortion unless it was absolutely medically necessary. When it is necessary, it should be legal, for the health of the woman. This SC decision is a huge blow to women's rights and is an outrage. We don't need a bunch of stodgy self righteous old men telling us what we can and cannot do with our own bodies. Get a clue, buddy. And ask the women in your life, I assume you're a man from your ignorant rant, how they would feel if abortion was illegal.

I only agree with late-term abortions when there are serious health risks for the woman involved. Otherwise, if you must have an abortion, have it as early as possible.

Are you aware that this is the first time a judge is allowed to make a medical decision for a grown rational adult? Its a very rarely used type of abortion, done when its discovered that the fetus has a serious defect that is incompatible with life? Things like brains outside the skull, or hearts outside the body, or half skulls with mush for brains.
If I gave you chapter and verse on when I had my thyroid gland out I could make it sound so gross and scary you would run out screaming. What I don't understand is why your kind would force a woman to bear a child who would die anyway, force her to carry to term a fetus with no chance of life, whats wrong with you? Are you so concerned with the fetus that you have no compassion for the woman who must go through this only to hold her grossly deformed infant and watch it die?

I think the folks at Planned Parenthood are a little smarter than that. I don't get why they don't support the ban, because it's probably not the doctors' fave thing to do. But I have some SERIOUS doubts that they are blatantly lying to the public. If there's one thing PP knows, it's that the general public is not stupid.

That said, abortions are sometimes necessary.
Partial Birth Abortion is not ever necessary.
