Currently, no, you don't need a degree, but hopefully that will change.

I am an Xray tech and I do have a degree, but there are many programs available that are non degree. Our professional societies are pushing to raise the professional level of radiologic technologists by recommending more education etc, so I think non degree programs will die in the future. Many of the radiologic technology programs are extremely competitive so do some research so you can be prepared before you apply. It's a great profession- I love my job and I know that I can find a job no matter where I live. Good Luck!

look at the local community colleges they have special programs for that subject check some local hospital ls some are willing to send you to school for that if you sign a contract to work for them for a certain period of time that is what I'm doing i live Indiana and they even work around school schedule went back after 20 years

Yes I think so... I am pretty sure you have to have a degree in Radiology Technology.
