1. just ask your mom
2. it can hurt sometimes. you might get cramps, you might be bloated and get headaches. Get some midol.
3. you really can't get ready, it kind of just happens. Have pads or tampons on hand just in case.
4. no its not scary, its natural. it can be ALOT but it depends its different for everyone.
5. if your in school ask to go to the bathroom, keep a pad in your backpack or locker and use it and you should be fine. Or go to the office say you arent feeling well, and go home..

also it can last 2-7 days but any longer than 7 days is not normal.

Honey, I'm not sure whether your talking about your period or not, but if you are then there are a few things I could tell you.

1. The pain is different for everyone, you might feel only a strange tingling in your stomach, or a cramping pain that is pretty consistent.

2. You REALLY need to ask your mom, and don't be afraid, she went through the same thing you are now, and she will be the best source of first-hand info.

3. Once again, the amount of blood is different for everyone, usually it starts off with "spotting" little drops that eventually turn into a steady flow.

4. The best way the prepare is to get some pads, get you mom to buy you some at the store, and carry them with you in a purse or or in your backpack at school.

Besides that, I hope it all goes well for you, and good luck!!

Do you mean your period? Try not to be scared - it's a sign of your fertility and part of a normal, healthy woman's reproductive cycle - an amazing thing really!

You can get ready for it by buying some pads (heavy and regular) and maybe start wearing pantiliners each day just in case it starts for the first time. Keep a pad in your purse or car.

You might know it's starting for the first time because you might start to get cramps. Or you might feel wet down there and wonder "did I leak pee or something??" Then you go to the bathroom and realize a little blood has come out.....

So if something like that happens at school, you will at least have your pantiliner on and can ask to go to the restroom. Then pull out your spare pad and put that on b/c it's more absorbent.

I was scared a little when I first got it because of the cramps. They hurt. But my mom gave me Advil and that helped a lot.

How much you will bleed and for how long depends on each woman. Bleeding 3-5 days is an average and you might bleed heavier at the beginning.

The cramps vary from woman to woman also.

Best of luck!

1. Just tell her, she will understand. She has been there herself.
2. Don't be scared. You may experience some stomach cramps. If you do then put a hot pack on your stomach.
There are also some meds out that are especially for your
"dot"
3. Buy pads so you're ready when you get it. And to answer question 5, you should put some in your bookbag so you'll have them at school if you start there.
4. It depends on the person. Some women get light periods and some get heavy or moderate. They last five to seven days, usually.

I am sending you a website that explains menstruation(dot):

First of all before anything, calm down...
1.) Ask your mom if you can talk to her privately and tell her you are concerned / curious, she will probably love that you came to her to discuss this.
2.) No, your period does not hurt. Typically what hurts is if you get menstrual cramps before you get your period, they can be mild to severe.
3.) Go to the store and buy a package of pads and keep them under the bathroom sink so that you will have them at the ready when you get it. I do not recommend tampons as you have not had a period before and you should give it time before you start using them.
4.) no, it is not scary. Some days and some cycles can be heavier or lighter Than others. You can buy a package of pads or tampons that have a combination of the different absorbancy levels until you figure out what kind of "flow" you are have.
5.) If you are in school and it starts kindly ask the teacher for a pass to the nurse's office and she will be able to help you out (trust me, you won't be the first person to start their period at school)

Hope this helps you out, please don't be scared, it's the first true sign you have become a woman!

I guess you're talking about your periods. Sit down with your mother and ask questions. Don't be scared. It usually doesn't hurt. You may have some cramping and you can buy something for that at your local store. You should buy some pads and keep some at school and some at home, so you'll be prepared. It will happen once a month and last 4-7 days. Don't worry! There's nothing to be afraid of. ☺

Honey, i had all of these same questions, and like you, my mom didn't bring it up 1st, i had to.

1. Tell her a friend of yours just got hers and you were curious, or try watching a movie or tv show with her that mentions it and ask her about it
2. No you shouldn't be scared. It can be painful, but not in the way you might be thinking, the pain does not come from "down there" it comes from inside your tummy, they are cramps that come from the walls of your uterus "delining" themselves. They feel alot like (not to gross you out) diahreha cramps (for me anyway)
3. Get ready by deciding whether you want to use tampons or pads (ask your mom on this, for some reason some moms have issues with tampons, mine did) and after you talk to your mom ask her if she'll take you out for lunch or shopping or something girly to celebrate (like my mom did with me) your new womanhood
4. This depends on the individual woman, but most have it for about 5-7days with the middle days being the "heaviest" (about 4-5 tampons/pads a day) but this depends on your body. for me, i get it really "light" for the first day HEAVY for 2 days, then it stops for a day, and comes back light for another day or 2. so yeah mines different than most, but you can talk to your doctor about yours when you get it.
5. If your worried about getting it at school or when your out with your friends (if your not already in the habit of it) carry a purse with you all the time(eventually you'll have to get used to this anyway lol) and keep a tampon/pad with you at all times, keep one in your locker or bookbag, and maybe even (again depending on the person) an extra pair of shorts or something just in case theres a stain.

1. Ask your mom
2. It doesn't hurt, just menstrual cramps
3. No way to prepare until it happens then you will always be prepared
4. First time you see blood in your underware it a little freaky but you know what is wrong when you see it
5. If you are in school, to to the nurses office

If you talk with your mom, she may be able to give you a pantyliner to carry in your purse in case it does start at school to get you by until you can get to the nurse's office

Don't worry about it. and don't be in a hurry to get it..........cause it will be with you for the next 30+ years.....every month.....once you get it
