We feed two adults and one 15 year old on $65 a week. We are stocked up on food and have a full upright freezer.
It's not hard to do once you learn how.
If you want to send me an email I could tell you more.
Best Wishes.

With todays cost of living, $50..00 will only get you hot dogs and mac & chz to eat daily. There are fillers to add to meal which are inexpenive such as rice, beans, corn meal, oat meal, potatos, etc. Growing your own garden will be beneficial. It will also occupy your time during your retirement & give you good blood flow as a type of exercise. Forget going out on a $50.00 budget. I would say maybe $100.00 at the least will get you by as long as you both eat small portions and never a second helping. Our stomachs are suppose to be the size of our fist. WE should only consume that size amount per meal. Don't forget to take your multi vitamins. $50.00 a week will malnourish the two of you & hospital bills cost more. If hungry, drink two 8 oz glasses of tap water before each meal. That too, will fill you up. Good luck. Hope you two already made funeral plans for the near future.

I feed a family of 5 for around 60 a week but Have done it on 30 it just takes planning plan out your meal in advance
If it were just me and my girlfriend we could do it on 25-30 a week..
This is not Mac-n-cheese or anything we eat very good Usually Italian.
The money killer is when planning meals know when to go out or eat in. If I would make tacos for 2 it would cost about 15 dollars but at taco bell 6 or 7 bucks.
remember eating out in general can be pricey and use
coupons when shopping it does help

I agree that it is too low. I would say at least 100 regardless of how many times you eat out. "food bill" often covers things that one does not usually consider when making the grocery list. Good luck and happy shopping!

we are round $one hundred and twenty 5 per week for myself, my husband and our 18 month previous twins . . . yet both my husband and that i devour out at paintings some days per week which isn't protected in that entire. We also bypass to BJs (one in each of those warehouse shops) once a month to load up on paper products, diapers, wipes and some stuff in bulk - that holiday is often about $250.

Well, that actually seems almost on par with the Canada's food guide. According to it, each person needs $30 worth of food every week.
Hope this helps.
