I don't mind the Dance-pop or A/C songs from some singers, but those banal, ignorant mainstream Rap songs on the mainstream radio stations must go! UGH!!! I have had enough of that vile rubbish! And one wonders why sales for that stuff has been on a decline since like 2005. It is because it has no intrinsic value. If those suits knew it is negatively changed their non-ethnic offspring, it would be banished and blocked from every Mainstream and Rhythmic station in the country. That is what I think.

Totally agree, I stopped listening to chart music ages ago, it's all disposable cr*p. Hardly anyone in pop music is putting out anything distinctive or innovative. I'm with you on Siobhan Donaghy, she's one of the few stand outs among all the dross- great voice, intelligent lyrics and she has her own individual style.

In 99' BillBoard's top 40 said it was the first time not one European singer/group hit the top forty list that week since the Beatles came over in 64'. That was definitely the start of the end of music. Its funny they blame illegal mp3 downloading on the fall of the music. It's really they put out crap I don't want to buy. Pop is no longer the most popular in over 30 years.

It's an absolute shame what passes for "music" these days. Today's performers wouldn't know real music if it bit them in the ***. It has to be disheartening for those talents who know music and are far more creative but have to take a back seat to a bunch of frauds and numbskulls.

You're right - I remember the 1980's, when music was good quality, now it's mostly cover versions, or loud, meaningless rubbish that the artist uses as an excuse to make money.

You should get into some of the stuff your parents and relatives got into as kids. Trying to be trendy and appreciate the trash you describe brings you down with it.
