I have a 10 year old and a 2 year old. With my older child, I tried everything to help her when she was teething and the only thing that worked better than everything else was getting a washcloth wet and putting it in the freezer for a little bit then giving it to her to chew on. With my younger one, I just did the wet/cold washcloth and he did ok. Good Luck hopefully someone on here will make a suggestion that works for your child.

Note: In the baby section in most drugstores thay have all natural teething tablets that disolve in water. If your child seems to be in a lot of pain then I would suggest using those to help sooth her. Also, dont give your child any frozen food as relief for teething gums unless he/she has had that food before and eats it with no problem.

Toast, a damp face cloth placed in the freezer, a frozen carrot, I no this isn't a home remedy but Tylenol is good for the pain...

Tylenol. Cold things to gnaw on - like a cold wet washcloth (keep one in the fridge in a baggie) or a frozen bagel. Zwieback cookies. (They pretty much disenitgrate but soothe.) My boss said when her son was teething, she gave him a hard salty pretzel (like the big sourdough ones) to gnaw on and the salt roughed up his gums enough for the teeth to break thru.

Stay away from orajel or ambesol - they can burn tender gums.

NEVER use any kind of alcohol - babies can die from alcohol poisoning from even a few drops.

Wet a wash cloth and chill it in the freezer and let her gnaw on that ...it should help releive pain...

Letting her chew on your finger or a semi hard plastic toy (no small parts) will produce counter pressure and that will help with the pain...

You can also go and buy Homeopathic teething tablets for pain.

Frozen fruit, freeze a banana or sliced peaches. Have you tried Hyland Teething tablets they are homeopathic (all natural) they work like a charm!

Give her a cold washcloth to suck on...I wouldn't recommend rubbing alcohol on her gums, though, because I've heard that's bad. If she's big enough help her eat a popsicle.
