Is it ok to put amphibians of any kind in a koi pond? Will the amphibians transmit disease, or will the koi eat the frogs? Just curious as to whether or not to put some in. Oh, and there's no threat from racoons (I have a high frequency sound generator).

I'd have to say that unless you live in a pretty urban area, you'll be likely to get some that will move in on their own, eventually.
Any wild organism has the potential to transmit disease, so that's one thing I'd be concerned about. Exotics wouldn't be advised because they may not be able to tolerate the climate or escape from the immediate area and become a problem for any native wildlife. Some amphibians might eat fry, but some tadpoles and larval salamanders might be eaten by your koi as well (depends on species, some have a bad taste).

As long as the goldfish is big enough to not be eaten by the Koi then it will be fine. Large goldfish and Koi make good pond mates. If the goldfish is just tiny (would fit in the mouth of a Koi) then grow it in a tank for 6 months to so, and it will be safe. Ian

It should be ok to put frogs in your pond. Just make sure that their sizes are no less than the size of your kois mouths. You can try adding some plants as hiding places. Also make "dry spot" where your frogs can get out of the water. You can plant lily pads or creat an area of land.

Why would you put amphibians with kois? just keep fish with fish it's the best thing...
