I'm not 100% sure of being an astrophysicist, I might be a astrobiologist, astrochemist or just an astronomer. What do you study in University to become one of these? Are there any good Universities for Astronomy? In Canada? What degrees do you need? How many years of will it take? Where does an astrophysicist work? How much do they get paid? Do they get paid even if they suck at being an astrophysicist? These may be stupid questions, but I'm just trying to figure out how to make a living out of my hobby/obsession. Thank you for your time, nice people.

You would want to major in physics, with a heavy side-focus in mathematics. Astrophysics, and especially other related fields such as quantum mechanics, are very math intensive. Undergraduate bachelor's degree is a four year program, but you would likely want to continue and pursue a PhD. Whether or not you 'suck as being an astrophysicist' may not directly affect your pay, it will affect where you get to work at and what you make. ^^ Astrophysicists often work in a research field, but many work in education, such as instructors at universities. There is a variety of things you can do, it just depends on what you enjoy. My astrophysics professor where I went to college used to work for NASA, but changed to education because she enjoyed it more. Although it's not easy, you have chosen a very fun, interesting field. =)
