Tocca, it's everyone.

You are "sensitive" because your EGO has created this illusion of the world and when people or events don't conform to this illusion, your Ego kicks in and tell you that's not the way it should be or that people keep hurting your feelings or that people are mean because of what they say or do or...

It goes on and on. People abuse and bully others because their Ego has created their own illusion and their being a bully or abusive hides insecurity and fear created because their vision of the world is threatened by what they think they hear and see.

With everyone living in their own illusion of what should be, you can see we're all in an insane assylum called Human Life.

So, how do you dismantle the illusion, kill the ego, and really start living life? By educating yourself (I would NOT recommend going into the field of psychology or psychiatry--they simply reinforce the Ego and the illusion that people live under). Where do you get this education? Read Eckhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Dali Lama, and others who stretch the "common" way of thinking about life, the Universe, and everything. Train yourself to think critically, and create the life you want realizing that what others think of you (or say about you, or whatever) IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! What? That's right. You can't control what others think or say. It's none of your business what others think or say. That's a tough lesson to learn, but you'll be MUCH happier when you learn it.

Everyone has a different personality.. Some are softer then others and you get those who are hard as a rock and dont seem to get bothered by anything..
i no my mother cant handle a joke and is a real softie but where as my brother dosnt care about what anyone thinks so these personalities clash.. just try not to show that you are upset if someone does something to hurt you, as this will show your weakness and people can use it for there advantage the best thing to do is.. just egnore them or make a joke about what they say and they will get bored.. Its ok to show your emotions but you feel alot better if you stick up for yourself and show people you are not afraid to.. start having abit more confidence in yourself and you wont feel as sensitive and easy to upset.. just do things that make you happy and avoid those that bring you down...

It's probably a combination of both. Sometimes, we allow ourselves to have hurt feelings by giving that power to those who are less sensitive about things. Try to make a conscious effort to take control by not allowing the petty things get to you. Consider the source and move on. Don't respond to the negativity. It's not fun or healthy.

It usually goes both ways. Christ said it must needs be that offences come but woe unto him by whom the offence cometh. In other words, we have to be prepared for offensive behavior because it is bound to find us from time to time. However, that is no excuse for us to be offensive to others. We tell be to just get over it and move on. We need to have tougher skin. Well, I don't necessarily agree with that calous answer. Yes, we need to be able to deal with offensive behavior by having enough self confidence to carry on despite the offence. We also have to be sensitive enough to recognize that some behavior is going to be offensive to others and take consciencious thought not to be that way. If we all would be considerate of one another and think if we would want to be treated that way ourselves, then we would probably not have nearly as many offensive situations to confront.
Best wishes.

certainly a combination of both, and there should be a moderation of sensitivity from both parties.
personally, im i sensitive person myself, but i've grown to react to offensive actions simply by not reacting. my mentality is that the purpose of 'them' doing something like that is to upset u, so simply be not upset and they dont get much joy.this doesnt mean u get it, but it normally gives a peaceful result.
