No kidding! I agree with the person above...we shouldn't judge people for asking questions on here! It's a great place to get knowledgeable information! It's good to get a second opinion before going to the doctor, just to see if someone else has/is going through the same thing. To answer your question...This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test. Also it could just be the cause of it "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown. Consult a doctor to be for sure!

There's definitely nothing wrong with you. You will probably have your first period very soon!! Please do tell your mom so the two of you can make sure you have pads or tampons (I recommend starting with pads).
The reason the discharge is brown is that sometimes the lining will oxydize. It's like if you cut your finger and got some on your shirt, and the blood turned from bright red to brown because it has been sitting in the air. It is normal to get brownish colored discharged during the lighter parts of a period (such as beginning or end) or sometimes in the middle of a cycle. The flow can very from bright red to blackish-red to almost pink as well as brown.
Don't be nervous about talking to your mom, she can definitely help. Or you can also talk to a doctor or your friends or people on here (but remember your friends are new at this too, and they might not be right about everything! and sometimes people on yahoo answers make up a lot of stuff or are just misinformed).

Well, don't freak out, hon. This may just be the start of your period. You may find that it becomes heavier and the color gets redder -- Still, don't freak out. Having your period is normal for a girl your age, and is nothing to get scared about. Tell your mom. She will know what to do to help you.

You are probably starting your first period. No reason to freak out or run to the doctor. The discharge will probably change to a "normal" bloody discharge within a day or two.

This is a funny story... I worked as a custodian at a junior high many moons ago. I thought chics where wiping their butts with tampons because I kept finding used brown stained tampons on the floor in the bathrooms. When I shared my disgust about it with my fellow Janitors they busted up laughing and had to explain to me that it was just old blood.
You're more than likely ok but I still think you should go get a check up and talk to your mom.

Just old blood from the end of your period...if you are concerned you can go to a gynecologist, but it is usually normal. If you have never had a period , it may be starting...don't worry, your mom knows all about periods, she has had many of them..and expects you to have them also.

You are probably getting close to starting your period. I was 12 1/2 when mine started and it was like that of an on til I actually started. Just tell your mom its not a big deal. She will buy you pads and tell you to use them when you start..its easy.

maybe it is because you are about to start again because when you first start you can have a period a couple days after another or miss a couple sometimes even like 6
it usually lasts a year or two and then begins to regulate

I'm thinking that you probably can no longer say that you've never had your period. It's more than likely the start of it. Not to worry. I'm quite sure what you are experiencing is normal.
