Ok kind of a personal question. Back in the times of the cave people, when women had their monthly, what did they use for sanitary purposes or did they use anything at all.

Within modern times several very primitive peoples have been discovered. Women use soft, tanned leather as an absorbent for their menstrual flow. This information is utilized as a part of the Clan of the Cave Bear series, written by Jean Auel. It kicks butt, and you should read all of them, except maybe the last one she put out. It just has TOO many characters, too many sub-plots, too much everything except for story flow.

One of the women in the bible (can't remember which one) says she can't get up because she's on her period. I guess maybe they just sat on something like a rag....
We aren't as far removed from that as you might think - I just found out that tampons weren't invented 'till the 30s!!! eeeew!

I would imagine that depending on the time, if we are speaking of cavepeople who wear skins and such that hide peices or scraps would probably be what they used...if not wearing anything of leather maybe plant material..leaves bark dandelion fluff etc...
