I just got some new light colored furniture. any suggestions on how to keep my cat and my dog off of my furniture??

i have a spray bottle filled with water, and when my cat gets near my couch, i spray him. it seems to work.

yes at the pet store they have sprays too keep pets off of furniture. it works my mom bought a new sectional and the cats dont go on it no more. the spray wont hurt the furniture either .and it smells nice too but i guess it dont too animals lol

bitter apple works great. you might not want to spray it directly on the furniture. I put some on a sponge and when the dog jumps up you make him smell it and then put him off the couch. He will learn not to go up there.

Train them. Just say "Bad boy/girl" and gently hit them on the nose everytime they try to get on the furniture..

For the cat spry it with a water bottle. And for the dog use treat's to keep him off and tran him.

If they were allowed to be on your old furniture, it will require a considerable investment of time to retrain them. Use slipcovers. It will be easier.
