It's the APENNINES MOUNTAIN RANGE.

The Alps are also in Italy. But it is shared with other countries like Germany, France, Switzerland, and Austria.

However, the highest point of Italy is not on the Apennines Mountain Range but on the Alps. It is Dufourspitze 15,203 (4,634 m.), which is located on its border to Switzerland.

Apennine is the Mountain range that belongs Italy. There are of course the Alps that extend into Italy, but they are shared with other countries.
