It's not always true... but people can be less attracted to brown eyes because they're so commonplace, and because there's generally lighter brown or darker black/brown, and nothing in between, whereas people with hazel/green/blue/whatever colored eyes have all sorts of variations that can change depending on the circumstances.

Like most others have already said, it's because darker-colored eyes are more common place than lighter colered eyes. People just want to see some different colors than just brown.

Because lighter eyes are less common. I have brown eyes and I go gaga over light eyes, especially blue.

I have eyes which change to green,hazel,grey,blue through the day. It seems lighter eyes are uncommon and exotic but brown eyes are common they're just common so seeing a mixed/black/spanish girl with light eyes are exotic.

By animal nature we are drawn to what is different. When we constantly see the same thing over and over again. A person begins to become accustomed to things that is seen. The eye is drawn to what is different. Its those differences that are attention getters.
Because a person is drawn to a person with lighter colored eyes does not mean they are more attractive. In my opinion it shows that a person is drawn to the differences in a person. It makes us feel special to have something different.

probably because light eyes are "different." i personally love brown eyes on a man. colored eyes on woman are pretty, but even dark eyes on us girls is nice!
I think that darker eyes seem more sincere for some reason. don't know why, but ... that's just me.
it's all a matter of opinion really. as they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

It might have to do with our Euro-centric, racist standard of beauty. Caucasians are most likely to have lighter colored eyes, and since (historically) Caucasians were setting the standards for beauty, light eyes became known to be beautiful. Much like straight "white" hair is consider better than curly "black" hair.

They're not. What you look like in general makes you attractive and your personality. You just have to know to do your eyeshadow....You need some brown with light white, and a shimmery color. Use brown eyeliner on your lower lid, and use a light black mascara

cause brown is very common and guys like more exotic eyes
but i'm brown eyed too and
some people i know with brown eyes have the most gorgeous eyes ever
